Just finished dinner, and I’m wishing I felt sleepy so I could nap now instead of crashing later.
Am over 3/4 through This Is Just Exactly Like You, which is a wonderful novel about a marriage that’s fallen apart. It reminds me quite a bit of the book Model Home by Eric Puchner, which I finished recently.
Rather grim humor in this book, but it’s good enough that I forgot for a while that I was doing a read-a-thon, and just felt vaguely guilty to be so wrapped up in a book when there’s work to be done. (Ha! There shall be no work this day! Nor this night! Nor tomorrow, in all likelihood!)
Stats thus far:
Books read: 2
Hours read: 9.5
Pages read: 650
Where I’ve read since the last update: sofa; hideous and comfortable recliner
What I’ve consumed since the last update: hummus with pita and carrots; olives; enough water to fill a swimming pool; tea; pasta with spinach and garbanzos (for strength!)
What else I’ve done: had a civilized dinner; unloaded the dishwasher; read book blogs; checked facebook
I shall finish this book before 11 p.m. Maybe, if I read with great swiftness, even before 10 p.m. Stay tuned.
