Book Blogger Appreciation Week – Day 4

Appreciation Week rages on!

Here’s today’s special:

Today we encourage you to blog about a book you read only because you discovered it on another book blog. Preferably, this will be a book you loved! You might also write a bit about the blog you discovered it on!

I already did a little bit of raving about A Work in Progress on Monday. Now I’ll rave a little more.

When reading her A Work in Progress blog last December, I found Dani’s “Best Reads of 2008” posting. This was a lovely discovery. First of all, I simply love lists. And I absolutely adore “Best of” lists. And Dani’s list was filled with delights, including Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca, as well as books by Wilkie Collins and Margaret Laurence. And it contained a brief blurb about the book The Mysteries of Glass by Sue Gee that enticed me into reading a work of historical fiction. No small feat!

And the book was exactly what she had promised. Check out her full review, which is much more evocative than mine.

I highy recommend a cruise on over to A Work in Progress… there’s good stuff to be found there!

  1. I hope you enjoyed the Sue Gee book-I loved it. It looks like we share some common favorite authors! And you probably know how much I love lists. Many thanks again for the mention!
