A very fun meme for Day 3 of Book Blogger Appreciation Week–
We encourage you to be creative with this! Please choose one or two questions to answer or try to answer all the questions in five words or less. Or choose a picture to answer a question! Brevity is the goal of today!
Brief I shall be. My comments appear in standard font, following the italicized questions.
Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack? Yes. Chocolate!
Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you? I am horrified beyond words.
How do you keep your place while reading a book? Bookmark? Dog-ears? Laying the book flat open? Small piece of paper, folded, so it doesn’t get in the way while I’m reading
Fiction, Non-fiction, or both? Both!
Hard copy or audiobooks? Both! (leaning toward hard copy if I must choose)
Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point? I can pick up and put down a book at any point. I’m kind of out of control that way.
If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away? Only if I’m being really, really good
What are you currently reading? A Man on the Moon by Andrew Chaikin (loving this book)
What is the last book you bought? The Secret Man: The Story of Watergate’s Deep Throat by Bob Woodward. I had to go back to 2007 (yes, really!) to find this one. I am pretty doggone frugal. (Plus that working-at-a-library bit is rather convenient; why buy when you can borrow?)
Are you the type of person that reads only one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time? Oh, I read lots at once. Lots.
Do you have a favorite time of day and/or place to read? Any time, night or day. Anyplace, even standing up.
Do you prefer books in series or stand alone books? Series
Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over? Fiction—Jackie by Josie by Caroline Preston ; Nonfiction—Young Men and Fire by Norman Maclean
How do you organize your books? (By genre, title, author’s last name, etc.?) Nonfiction—by subject; Fiction—by genre, and then by author’s last name
Great questions, folks!
