Best of the Year — New to Me edition

So last week I posted my favorite books published in 2015.

This week we’ve got the Best Books I Read in 2015 That Weren’t Published in 2015.

I know: splitting hairs.

But… it lets me love more books, so we’re just rolling with it.

Here we go…

Best Overall
The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown
I loved it so much I haven’t even written about it yet.

Best Fiction
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
Yep, didn’t write about this one, either. But I’m thinking everyone’s probably already read it (I was late to the party).

Best Mystery
The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith
The 2nd in the series, and it’s even better than the very fine first.

Best YA Fiction
A Brief History of Montmaray by Michelle Cooper

Best Memoir
Mennonite in a Black Dress by Rhoda Janzen

Best Self-Improvement Book
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
Seriously tempted to post a photo of my Konmari’d cardigans

Best Science Fiction
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Remarkable on audio

Best How-To Book
Everybody Writes by Ann Handley
Your friendly neighborhood non-buyer of books can finally rest easy because I finally broke down and ordered a copy from Amazon. (People! I don’t buy books!)
