Hi, I’m Stacey.
If you’re looking for bookish enthusiasm, delivered by your friendly neighborhood book geek, you’ve landed at the right place.
I’ll tell you what books I like and why I like them—in a way that’ll help you decide pretty fast if you’d like them, too.
If I don’t like a book, typically I bail on it, and I don’t say a peep.
(I was raised in Iowa to be a polite little human.)
I’ll read almost anything, but mostly we’re talking lots of nonfiction, plus a decent dose of general fiction and mysteries.
But I read whatever I feel like reading (when it comes to books, I am actually Unruly) so really, it could be anything.
- a reference librarian since the last
millennium (public libraries, baby!)
- a book club member since the ’90s
- blogging since 2008
- bookish since birth
Based on the family photo albums, in my early years I did little other than look at books, eat paper, and parade around the house in a very fetching boots/diaper ensemble.
My logo is based on a photo of me at age 3, reading outdoors on the lid of my tractor-tire sandbox.
I’m pretty sure my mom had told me to go outside and play… so I did.
Despite all this reading—and in spite of my early book-cataloging tendencies (when I was 10, I typed Author, Title, and Series catalog cards for all of my books)—it took me another 11 years to realize I was librarian material.
When I’m not reading or librarian-ing, I can be found…
- drinking powerfully strong coffee
- going out for breakfast on the weekend
If you’re just aching to know more, here are 3 things you don’t know about me…
- I’m pigeon-toed and wicked clumsy
